Eligibility for Medical Services

University or Unit-Covered Medical Expenses

  • Government Officials 
  • Retired Government Officials / Officials with Status Changes (who are still employed at Chulalongkorn University)

  • Enterprise Units (e.g., Property Management Office, Chulalongkorn University Press, Chulalongkorn Integrated Innovation Institute, Chulalongkorn Academic Testing Center, Chulalongkorn Academic Service Center, Center of Excellence on Hazardous Substance Management, etc.) – These units are responsible for their own expenses.

Note: Personnel working in provincial areas who are eligible for annual health check-up benefits may receive their check-ups at government medical facilities. They must initially cover the expenses and submit receipts, specifying examination details, examination codes, and service fees, to their respective units. The units will then compile and forward the receipts to the Welfare Office for verification and coordination with the Finance, Accounting, and Procurement Administration Office for reimbursement. Only examinations that comply with the Ministry of Finance’s criteria are eligible for reimbursement.

For personnel stationed in provincial areas who are entitled to the annual health check-up, they may undergo check-ups at public hospitals. Specify the examination details, test codes, and service fees, then submit them to the Welfare Office for verification and coordination of reimbursement with the Office of Financial Administration, Accounting, and Procurement. (Reimbursement is only applicable for examinations covered under the Ministry of Finance’s regulations.)

The annual health check-up is divided into two groups: those under 35 years old and those aged 35 and above. The check-up follows the Ministry of Finance’s criteria, with additional tests that the university may provide in special cases, which may vary each year. It can be re-administered, but it is not necessary. 

The flu vaccine can be administered because pregnant women tend to experience more severe symptoms if they contract the flu compared to the general population. 

It is still possible to contract the flu, but the symptoms will be less severe compared to not receiving the vaccine (the vaccine only helps reduce the severity of the illness). 

Within 2-3 weeks after vaccination. 

Side effects of the flu vaccine to be aware of: 
Mild pain at the injection site, which will resolve within 2 days. General symptoms may include fever, body aches, occurring 6-12 hours after vaccination, lasting for 1-2 days. Some individuals may experience hives or swelling of the lips. 

The flu vaccine can be administered throughout the year, but it is recommended to get vaccinated before the peak of the flu season, which is typically before the rainy season in May and before the winter season in October.
