Criteria for a Government Official who is eligible for an extension of service
- Holds the position of Associate Professor (Asst. Prof.) with a doctoral degree or equivalent, or Professor, by the end of the fiscal year in which they are due to retire. (In the case of an Assistant Professor who has already applied for promotion to Associate Professor before applying for the extension of service, the individual is eligible to apply. However, the University Council may grant the extension only if the appointment to the Associate Professor position is officially approved before the end of the fiscal year of retirement.)
- Must be scheduled to retire in the specified fiscal year.
- Must meet other qualifications as prescribed by the University Council, including: possessing good moral character and ethics, being in good health, and having passed a health check-up with a medical certificate issued by a government institution within the past year.
- Must have fulfilled the minimum workload requirements for academic staff in higher education institutions, as specified by the University Council.
- Must have academic work that meets the criteria for publication and quality standards as specified by the Office of the Higher Education Commission (OHEC).
- Must be actively involved in both teaching and research.
- The University Council will make the final decision regarding the appropriateness of the service extension.
