Child Education Subsidy

Bursary for employee’s children

Personnel working at Chulalongkorn University who meet the following criteria are eligible for the educational subsidy: 

Eligible Personnel: 

  • Government officers 
  • Permanent employees under the national budget 
  • Permanent employees under non-budgetary funds 
  • University academic and operational staff 
  • Security personnel 

Criteria & Conditions: 

  • This subsidy is provided to personnel who do not receive the benefit of enrolling their children in Chulalongkorn University Demonstration School. 
  • Must have been employed at Chulalongkorn University for at least one year. 
  • The subsidy covers up to three children and is categorized as follows:  
  • Primary Education (Grades 1–6): 6,000 THB per child Secondary Education (Grades 7–12) or Vocational Certificate (Years 1–3): 7,200 THB per child 

Frequently Asked Questions

The application period typically opens from June to August each year. 

Government officials, permanent employees under both government and non-government budgets, university staff, and security personnel who have been employed at Chulalongkorn University for at least one year from their official appointment date. 

Eligible personnel may claim educational support for up to three children. 

Not eligible for reimbursement, as it would constitute a duplication of benefits. The child in question will be deducted from the number of children eligible for the education subsidy. 

Eligible children must be enrolled in Primary Education (Grades 1–6) or Secondary Education (Grades 7–12) / Vocational Certificate (Vocational Year 1–3) only. 

Not eligible, as per Chulalongkorn University Regulation Clause 5(2), which states that the child must be enrolled in an educational institution under the Ministry of Education, Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, Municipality, or Provincial Administrative Organization, a demonstration school under a university, or a private school supervised by the Ministry of Education. This applies to students from Primary Grade 1 to Secondary Grade 12 in both general and vocational education. It does not include private vocational schools with their own curricula or non-formal education institutions under the Private School Act

For first-time claims for a specific child, additional documents are required, including: 

  • A copy of the child's household registration 
  • A copy of the marriage certificate 
  • Other relevant documents 

In the absence of a marriage certificate, the applicant must provide a legal document verifying parental status, such as a birth certificate of the child or a court-issued document confirming parental rights. Additional supporting documents may be required as specified by the university’s regulations.
