Chulalongkorn University’s Office of Human Resources Management conducted the “Orientation and Professional Development Program for New Faculty and Researchers, 31st Cohort,” from July 14–18 and 21–22, 2025. The program took place at the 7th Floor Meeting Room, Office of Academic Resources, Sala Phra Kieo, and Meeting Room 2001, 20th Floor, Chaloem Rajakumari 60th Anniversary Building (Chamchuri 10 Building).
The President, Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, graciously presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a special address titled “Spirit of Chula.”
The Vice President, Professor Dr. Kanaphon Chanhom, extended a warm welcome to the new faculty members and researchers participating in the program.



















New Operational Staff Orientation Program: 100th Cohort
Chulalongkorn University’s Office of Human Resources Management organized the “New Operational Staff Orientation Program, 100th Cohort: CHULA Newcomers – Fostering the Chula Spirit” from March 3–7, 2025. Activities took place at the 7th Floor Meeting Room, Maha Thirarachanusorn Building, and the Ravindra Beach Resort & Spa, Chonburi.
Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, graciously presided over the opening ceremony and delivered a keynote address titled “Future Skills and the Driving Force of University Success.” This was followed by a session on “Workplace Ethics for New Staff,” presented by Associate Professor Dr. Pandit Chanrochanakit from the Faculty of Political Science on March 3, 2025, at the Maha Thirarachanusorn Building.
The “CHULA Newcomers” program aims to provide new operational staff with a comprehensive understanding of the University’s mission and essential institutional knowledge, while fostering positive relationships among staff that help build stronger internal collaboration. It also emphasizes the cultivation of Chula’s core values, enhancing attitudes and competencies that align with the University’s expectations. A total of 84 operational staff members participated in the program.
Beyond professional development, Chulalongkorn University places great importance on the health and well-being of its personnel. Annual health check-ups and influenza vaccinations are provided regularly, while preventive care programs encourage staff to take proactive steps in maintaining their health. This commitment is exemplified by the “Chula Sa-nga Ngam” (Elegant Chula Community) initiative, which offers free sports skill courses such as walking, running, tennis, golf, Zumba, yoga, swimming, and more.Staff can join any activity of interest without the need for personal equipment, promoting a healthy, active, and connected Chula community.

The 45th Annual Chulalongkorn University Staff Sports Competition 2025
The 45th Annual Chulalongkorn University Staff Sports Competition 2025 was held under the theme “Fostering the Health of the Chula Community, Leading to the Future,” promoting physical well-being and unity among university personnel. The event featured 24 sporting disciplines and commenced on January 27, 2025.
Flame-Lighting Ceremony
The official Flame-Lighting Ceremony took place on March 14, 2025, at 9:09 a.m., at the Statues of King Rama V and King Rama VI.The ceremony began with Professor Dr. Surakiart Sathirathai, Chairman of the Chulalongkorn University Council, paying homage at the monument, followed by a report from Associate Professor Dr. Pakorn Varanusupakul, Chairman of the Competition Organizing Committee.
Professor Dr. Surakiart then lit the auspicious flame and passed the torch to Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University. The President led the torch relay from the monument, passing the flame to representatives from various faculties and departments, who carried it to Chulalongkorn Stadium.






































































Opening Ceremony
The Opening Ceremony was held at Chulalongkorn Stadium later that day, beginning at 5:15 p.m. Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat, President of Chulalongkorn University, presided over the event, with Associate Professor Dr. Sukanya Sompiboon, Vice President and Chair of the Games Steering Committee, delivering the opening report.
The ceremony featured a vibrant parade of staff representatives from all faculties and departments. The torch relay culminated with athlete representatives passing the flame to the President, who then lit the ceremonial cauldron, officially marking the start of the competition.

Closing Ceremony
The Closing Ceremony was held at Lan Trin-chai Field, beginning with a summary of the competition’s proceedings presented by Associate Professor Dr. Pakorn Varanusupakul, Chairman of the Organizing Committee and Director of the Chulalongkorn Sports Center. This was followed by a report on the final results from Associate Professor Dr. Wannaporn Tongtako, Chair of the Sports Technical Committee.
Professor Dr. Wilert Puriwat presided over the trophy presentation, awarding prizes to winning teams in various sports events, as well as to the winners of the parade, performance showcase, and cheerleading contests. The President also delivered the official closing address, marking the successful conclusion of this year’s staff games.
Following the ceremony, university executives and staff attended a dinner reception at Lan Trin-chai Field, featuring ballroom dance and aerobics performances, a lucky draw, and a live concert by the Chula staff band, “Wong Arai Band”, bringing the 45th Annual Staff Sports Competition to a joyful and memorable close.
To enhance the lives of the Chulalongkorn University community by aligning with modern co-working and work-from-home trends, Chulalongkorn University, in collaboration with Kasikorn Bank, has developed and designed the CU NEX Staff application. This app is equipped with various functions, linking essential knowledge resources and service tools directly to users’ mobile devices, providing a seamless digital experience. Available for download since May 18, 2020, this application enables the Chulalongkorn community to fully embrace digital living. The university continues to develop this application to further simplify and facilitate the work experience, ensuring convenience and efficiency for the Chulalongkorn community well into the future.
Chulalongkorn University is equally dedicated to environmental and ecological well-being, understanding that a healthy environment plays a key role in improving quality of life and enhancing staff productivity. To that end, the university and its community have joined forces to create green spaces in the heart of Bangkok, preserving the sustainable character of the “Chamchuri Park.” Notable initiatives include the CU Centenary Park, bicycle and electric scooter sharing, and the CU Shuttle Bus, a fleet of electric vehicles providing eco-friendly transportation for Chulalongkorn staff around campus. These efforts reflect the university’s strong commitment to environmental stewardship, enhancing both the work and well-being of its community.
